Over the past 33 years on this planet if there is one thing I have learned it is, I am truly the happiest when I am helping someone else reach their dream.

 

Growing up, I was always the kid who listened to the problems other kids had and they always asked for my thoughts and recommendations to make it better.  Who was I to give them advice? Certainly not a Counselor, not a Doctor... just a regular kid. This continued through my teen years and even into my adult life. I even found my older relatives asking me to help them in personal and professional decisions.  I realized how passionate I was, and still am, about helping people and making them smile.

I have been a part of Independent Network marketing since I was 18 years old. I remember sitting in a room and listening to a guy talk about being paid off of other people's efforts and residual income.


I had watched my dad work many hours and work very hard through my childhood and decided quickly "I wanted to work smart instead of hard". The man in the front of the room drawing circles and lines on the white board was making a lot of sense.

As I said before, I was 18 years old.... I had other dreams... big dreams... dreams of going to college in New York City and performing on Broadway! My dream was all I needed.... Little did I know what an impact those circles and lines would mean to me years down the road.

 

I was an affiliate with this company for about 2 years and over that time I hit some tough spots... I was getting frustrated because my family and circle of friends would not support me in what I did. I could not understand why this made sense to me but not to them.

I learned years later from one of my mentors that you have to be a product of your product.  I had my big dreams and no one could change this, however I wanted other people to support this product that I did not 100% support. I was not living by my product.  I found myself blaming the company and it's products for me not filling my white board with circles and lines.

 

During that time I met my first Mentor and he taught me that book smarts and intelligence weren't always required to be successful.   Formerly an Auto Mechanic, he's now is a Multi Millionaire in the Network Marketing Industry.   I learned from him that when you have a strong system in place all you have to do is get that system in front of as many people as possible and Duplicate it.

If you take a moment and look at any successful franchise or any business they are built on Duplication, you will see that is the key to their success. Take McDonalds, when you go to a McDonalds you know that when you order a Number 1 you are going to get a Big Mac, Fries and your choice of medium drink no matter if you are in Minneapolis, New York, Jacksonville, or China. That is something that has worked; and as Franchisee of McDonalds that is a system you have to follow to ensure your success.

 

Another Mentor of mine taught me a secret that I feel is more a gift. The lesson he taught me was that I was in complete control of my thoughts. You also have to watch out what you think about. You have to set goals, write them down and live the life and do the things as if you already have accomplished that goal. I noticed once I started concentrating on improving myself, everything started falling into place.

For me, it all came together when I learned to stop thinking about the money I was making, stop worrying about things I could not control. and instead I FOCUSED on my goals and worked on making Shawn the best person I could be! I also discovered that what I was doing was to not push my business onto my family, or friends. It was to attract people who needed and wanted more out of life. I also learned that only less than 10% of people will actually do something different to change their life. Bottomline, To change what you are experiencing in your life, you have to...CHANGE!

I am simple guy who is married to my Beautiful wife Jennifer, We have one child named Jacob who is 6. I love Sports, Theater, Music, and spending time with likeminded people. I live near Historical St. Augustine, FL. We have 2 dogs and a cat. I am very close with my Mom and love to find success in everything I do.  I am a big time Minnesota Twins fan (originally born in Minnesota) and look forward to spending time with my wife and Son at spring training games in South Florida!
